Q: What Can I Print?
A: Lots! You can print the screen, an object, a receipt, a file, or a database report.
Q: Can I Specify the Printout Size?
A: Yes. If you're printing a screen or object, you may specify the size of the printout.
Q: What Types of Files Can I Print?
A: DOC, TXT, or PRN files. The fastest and best way to print text-based files is to create .PRN files via Word. These files contain all the printout formatting and really zip through the printer.
Q: Can I Charge for Printing?
A: Yes. You can create "pay-per-printout" kiosks easily. The software download & demo has examples of this.
Q: Can I Timestamp My Printouts?
A: Yes. If you're printing a screen or object, you may specify the size of the printout.
Q: Does It Trap Printing Errors?
A: Yes. If a printing error occurs, Kiosk-in-a-Box will disable the printer until the system is reset. It will also clean up any printing dialog boxes. You may optionally have Kiosk-in-a-Box automatically transition to a "printout error screen" - a screen you define that is displayed immediately upon a printing error. This screen could optionally have your phone number and/or a Touch-to-Dial object so users could call you if they experienced an error.
Q: Are Errors Recorded to Disk?
A: Yes. If you optionally have Kiosk-in-a-Box transition to the "printout error screen", this information will be recorded in the statistics file.
Q: Can I Be Informed if There is an Printing Error?
A: Yes. You have the option to have Kiosk-in-a-Box send you an E-Mail if a printing error ever occurs.
Q: What Happens if Someone Tries to Print After an Error?
A: A message is displayed. Kiosk-in-a-Box will display a graphic (that you design) explaining that there is no printouts available at this time. You may make this graphic any size and place it anywhere on the screen.
