Automatic E-Mail and
FTP Reporting FAQ
|
Q: Can I Receive Reports via E-Mail?
A: Yes! If your kiosk is connected to the Internet, you can receive information via E-Mail automatically.
Q: What Reports May I Receive?
A: A Variety. You can receive "I'm Alive" messages at specified intervals, "printer error" reports when your printer is down, "purchase reports" when someone buys something at the kiosk, and/or "survey results" when someone completes a user survey.
Q: Can I Receive Usage Reports?
A: You bet! You can set it up to send you the daily usage report file via E-Mail automatically.
Q: What About Information in my Databases?
A: They may be included. You can set up Kiosk-in-a-Box to also archive and E-Mail your database files, including your survey database{s}, product purchase database, user session tracking database, and/or your pay-per-view database.
Q: Can I Also Receive Collected E-Mail Addresses?
A: Yes. You can include these as well within your nightly E-Mail.
Q: When Do I Receive the E-Mail?
A: That depends. Some options are "live" and other options are "once a day". The "live" options include printing errors, surveys, and purchase orders. The "daily" includes your database collections, user session tracking, and collected E-Mail addresses. Each of these are "optional", so you can set it up any way you like. The "daily" files are sent when there is a day change (i.e., from Monday to Tuesday) and the kiosk is in Attract Mode.
Q: Can I Use FTP Instead?
A: Yes. You have the option to have all "daily" databases and reports sent via FTP to a location on your server automatically.
Q: Can Each Kiosk Update Itself Automatically?
A: Yes. You name each kiosk out in the field, and then provide "update files" for the kiosks you wish to update by placing these files on your server. At night, when your kiosk is in Attract Mode, it will log onto your server and look for an update file that matches the name of itself. If there, it will perform an automatic update based on the contents of this file.
